Sonnenberg carries Napoleon past Defiance

NAPOLEON - Devon Sonnenberg ran for 135 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries to lead Napoleon to an 18-7 win over Defiance Friday night.

Sonnenberg scored from 2 yards out in the second quarter, then scored on runs of 1 and 39 yards in the final period.

The Wildcat defense was impressive, limiting Defiance to just 33 yards on 34 carries while carrying a shutout into the final period.

The Bulldogs' lone touchdown came on a 39-yard pass from Kurt Belau to Evyn George.

Elida 21, Liberty-Benton 7

FINDLAY - Reggie McAdams played a part in all three of Elida's touchdowns, including a pair of scoring runs in the first quarter to put his team ahead 14-0.

Liberty-Benton's Mitch Linhart totaled 67 yards on 16 carries and completed 12 of 24 passes for 175 yards. He scored the Eagles' only touchdown on a six-yard run in the third quarter to cut Elida's lead to 14-7.

McAdams was 14 of 21 passing for 131 yards. He was aided by Colin Blymyer's 131 rushing yards on 26 attempts.

Liberty-Benton did not force a turnover.
