NWOAL roundup: Miller's 3 TD catches lift Napoleon

NAPOLEON - Tyler Miller hauled in three touchdown catches as Napoleon topped Wauseon, 28-7 Friday night.

Drew Gerken threw the first two TDs to Miller, one of 16 yards and the other of 95. Jacob Plassman tossed a 29-yard TD pass to Miller.

Devon Sonnenberg scored the other TD for Napoleon (2-0) on a four-yard run.

Wauseon (1-1) scored on a two-yard run by Landon Schaffner, who rushed 22 times for 53 yards.

Archbold 14, Bryan 7

BRYAN - Noah Keefer's 83-yard kickoff return in the third quarter helped Archbold win.

Keefer scored earlier in the third quarter on a 14-yard run. He finished the game with 65 yards on 10 carries.

The Blue Streaks had 17 first downs to Bryan's 10.

Keefer's kickoff return came immediately after Bryan (0-2) tied the game at 7-7 on a 24-yard TD run by Tommy Eyre.

Evergreen 27, Delta 7

METAMORA - Evergreen's Dan Hilton scored twice as the Vikings (1-0, 2-0) rolled up nearly 300 yards on the way to a win over Delta.

Hilton, with 14 carries for 73 yards, and teammate Derek Truckor (9 carries for 102 yards) accounted for 175 of Evergreen's 256 yards rushing.

Truckor rushed for a 28-yard TD.

The Panthers' (0-1, 1-1) broke into the scoring column in the fourth quarter when running back Eric Puehler broke off a 63-yard run that set up Drew Salsbury's six-yard pass to Josh Beverly.

Patrick Henry 33, Swanton 0

HAMLER - Gabe Jones rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another.

Already up 13-0, Jones tossed an eight-yard TD pass to Alex Wilhelm and followed with TD runs of 58 and 7 yards.

Jones had 89 yards on 13 carries and completed 5 of 11 passes.

Lucas Rosebrook scored PH's first two touchdowns, of 16 and 15 yards, and finished with 107 yards on 19 attempts.

Liberty Center 62, Montpelier 13

MONTPELIER - Sean Westhoven rushed for three touchdowns and Austin Burdue had two of his own as Liberty Center rolled.

Westhoven carried 13 times for 137 yards, and Burdue carried seven times for 72 yards. Another Tiger, Bryan Hefflinger, had 92 yards and a TD on nine carries.

Liberty Center's Michael Poignon scored on an 80-yard kickoff return.

For Montpelier, Keagen Hartsock rushed 11 times for 47 yards and a 1-yard TD. Kyle Long also scored on a 75-yard kickoff return.
