Northview wins tourney, AW gains title

BOWLING GREEN — Northview won the Northern Lakes League boys golf tournament Wednesday, but Anthony Wayne won the overall league title.

Four Northview golfers carded scores below 80 as the Wildcats captured the tournament title Wednesday at Riverby Hills Golf Club.

The Wildcats finished with a 305 team total, one stroke ahead of the Generals.

Maumee (318) was third, followed by Bowling Green (329), Soutrhview (335), Perrysburg (335), Rossford (339) and Springfield (358).

Anthony Wayne's Deion Tansel shared the individual title with teammate Steve Linde. Both shot 74 to lead the Generals to the overall NLL title, which combines dual meet and tournament results.

Anthony Wayne had 35 points in the final team standings followed by Northview (32), Maumee (30), and Bowling Green (25).

Jeff Czerniakowski led the way for Northview yesterday, finishing second with a 75.

Maumee's Alex Cintron finished third with a 77 and his teammate Brandon Snell was fifth (82).

Bowling Green's Nolan Dill also made the first team all-NLL by carding an 81.

Woodmore captures SLL championship

CLYDE — Billy Blausey led the way to four Woodmore golfers finishing in the top 10 of the Suburban Lakes League golf tournament to help the Wildcats win the championship at Green Hills Golf Course.

Blausey placed fourth with a score of 79 while Ty Burner (81), Mikayla Baer (82) and Matt Zatko (83) finished seventh, ninth and 10th, respectively.

Woodmore claimed the title with a score of 325, followed by Genoa (328), Eastwood (332), Lake (336), Otsego (343), Elmwood (354) and Gibsonburg (362).

Elmwood's Kyle Smithey took top honors with a round of 73, while Otsego's John Connelly placed second with a score of 77. Gibsonburg's Austin Shafer and Genoa's Andrew Goeckerman posted a round of 79 apiece to share fourth-place honors with Blausey.
