Archbold's Morton tosses 6 TD passes

ARCHBOLD — Garrett Morton completed 13-of-17 passes for 185 yards and six touchdowns as Archbold clobbered Montpelier 76-8 Friday night.

Morton threw TD passes to four different receivers — Noah Keefer, T.J. Gerken, Danny Young and Tyson Dietrich — as the Blue Streaks built a 28-0 lead after one quarter. In the second period he threw scoring strikes to Keefer and Desmond Sleigh, and Archbold added a 3-yard TD run by Keefer and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Hayden Stamm.

Dietrich ran for touchdowns on runs of 4 and 37 yards in the third quarter, and Jacob Reyes added 94-yard run in the final period as the ‘Streaks improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the NWOAL.

Collin Mercer scored on a 61-yard run and finished with 105 yards on 16 carries to lead Montpelier (1-5, 1-4).

HAMLER — Lucas Rosebrook ran 9 yards for the first Patriots touchdown and Kasey Spence went 11 yards in the fourth quarter as Patrick Henry won its sixth straight game overall and fifth in the NWOAL.

Rosebrook carried 13 times for 105 yards. Spence was 6 of 17 passing for 59 yards.

Eric Puehler gained 56 yards in 16 carries for Delta (2-4, 0-4). Drew Salsbury hit 10 of 21 passes for 144 yards the Panthers.

LIBERTY CENTER — Justin Joseph provided the winning margin of victory for the Tigers (3-3, 3-2) with a fourth-quarter, six-yard touchdown run in a defensive-minded contest.

It was the second scoring run of the night for Joseph, who also ran for a six-yard TD run in the second quarter. For the night, Joseph carried 19 times for 86 yards.

The Bulldogs (0-6, 0-5) got on the board in the second quarter when Tom Leahey pushed in from two yards out. Leahey was the leading Swanton rusher with 72 yards in 23 attempts.

WAUSEON — Jake Phillips ran for 232 yards and one touchdown in 14 carries to lead Bryan (3-3, 3-1) to victory.

Phillips scored on a 79-yard run, while Collin Bacon added a 7-yard TD run and Cody Robinson scored on a 5-yard run for the Golden Bears.

Jessie Finney, who finished with 125 yards on 10 carries, scored the lone touchdown for Wauseon (3-3, 2-2) on a 5-yard run.
