Milletti leads Devils to win over Wildcats

The Blue Devils' Denrick Milletti caught two TD passes and ran for two more scores as host Springfield held off a late Northview rally.

Milletti scored on runs of 69 and 19 yards and finished with 159 rushing yards on 11 attempts. He also caught a six-yard TD toss from Leroy Alexander and a 15-yard scoring strike from Johnny Huntley.

The Blue Devils (3-3, 2-1 NLL) also got a 60-yard kickoff return by Mason Decavitch. Devin Burns kicked a 20-yard field goal for Springfield in the first quarter.

Northview trailed 35-21 entering the final quarter but got a three-yard TD run by Addison Hirschfeld and a 28-yard TD pass from Brian Downing to Mark Bernsdorff — the last score with just 16 seconds left.

Downing completed 8 of 23 passes for 136 yards. He also had a 25-yard scoring strike to Tyler Schinharl in the second quarter and added a 1-yard TD plunge in the third quarter.

Hirschfeld had an 11-yard TD run in the second quarter for the Wildcats (3-3, 1-2). Zach Crampton ran for 136 yards on 23 carries.

Maumee quarterback Jake Schneider was 9-of-14 passing for 145 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a rushing TD.

Corbin Frankhouse caught five passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

Maumee (5-1, 3-0 NLL) gained 346 yards, 324 rushing and 22 passing.

Robby Cole caught two TD passes from Schenider of 22 and 2 yards. Steve Duby had a rushing touchdown and Luke Junga recovered a fumble return for another Panther score.

Diego Torres-Moreno caught a 29 yard pass for one Rossford (0-6, 0-3) touchdown and ran 37 yards for another. D. J. Recknagel was 7-of-9 passing for 99 yards and a TD. He gained 61 yards on 19 rushes and scored one TD.

BOWLING GREEN — Anthony Wayne surged out front with four touchdowns in the first quarter and never looked back.

Matt Green led the Generals with 132 rushing yards on six carries, including a 15-yard TD run. He also scored on a 61-yard interception return.

Alex Bridges added 50 rushing yards on four carries, and scored on an 8-yard run and a 40-yard interception return. Max Newcomer contributed 75 yards on five carries as the Generals racked up 437 yards on the ground.

Bowling Green cracked the scoring column late in the first quarter on Keegan Beaverson's 76-yard kickoff return. Anthony Wayne then reeled off another 21 points before Quinn Donaldsons scored on a 13-yard run for the Bobcats in the third quarter.

The Generals amassed 454 total yards while holding BG to just 25 yards.
