Webb, Sterritt lead Whitmer

Whitmer's Jody Webb and Tre Sterritt ran for a combined 267 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Panthers Friday night in a City League game.

Webb finished with 135 yards on 13 carries and scored on runs of 9, 28 and 29 yards, while Sterritt added 132 yards on 10 attempts and found the end zone on runs of 1 and 10 yards.

The pair helped Whitmer (5-1, 3-0 City League) finish with 337 yards rushing on 45 carries; the Panthers had 412 yards of total offense.

Jake Wawrzyniak led the Knights (2-4, 0-2), running for 118 yards and a 1-yard TD run in the final quarter. St. Francis finished with 198 yards of total offense, including 132 yards rushing.

Brogan Roback was 13-of-22 passing for 200 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers, and St. John's overpowered Start at Springfield.

Cheatham Norrils was the Titans' leading receiver with four catches for 53 yards, including a 7-yard score to open the second half. Nate White led St. John's on the ground with 20 carries for 106 yards.

Start's Alfonzo Howell had five catches for 109 yards and scored on a 10-yard catch as the game ended. Chris Jones added two catches for 53 yards, including a 46-yard TD in the first quarter that tied the game at 7.

The Rebels built a 14-0 lead in the first three quarters and held on for the victory at home.

Dijon Tucker led Bowsher with 15 carries for 100 yards and a 36-yard TD run. Drew Grigsby connected with Keith Tipton for a 25-yard score to give the Rebels an early 7-0 advantage.

Devonte Hughes scored on a one-yard run for Waite.

Damond Powell hauled in a 81-yard TD pass from Dominic Jones on the first play of the game, and the rout was on for Rogers, which played as the visiting team at its home field.

Powell played just two quarters, and finished with two catches — both touchdowns — for 141 yards. Jones totaled nine carries for 73 yards with TD runs of 25, 15, and 15.

Gary Johnson led the Rams' ground attack with six carries for 81 yards and a 52-yard touchdown. He also caught a 23-yard TD pass from Marquise Snider.

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS — Damon Smith led the Tigers with a 10-yard touchdown run and 52-yard kickoff return.

Dominique Chambliss provided the Bulldogs (0-6) with a 15-yard scoring run and 24 carries for 114 yards.
