Elliston, Ohio, native and American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox tied the knot Sunday with a fellow musician in Chicago, according to her father, Bill Bowersox.
He confirmed Monday a People magazine report that his daughter, a 25-year-old singer/songwriter who played around northwest Ohio since she was a teenager, married her longtime friend Brian Walker.
The two met when Crystal Bowersox lived in Chicago a few years ago.
“Our lives have never made more sense than they do right now,” Bowersox told People. “I can’t believe how incredibly lucky we are to have found so much laughter, love, and light within each other. We’re one happy WalkerSox family.”
The magazine said she wore an Earth-friendly hemp and cotton gown from Vermont designer Tara Lynn. Their rings were designed by Walker and crafted by Chicago’s Traci Coughlin and Steve Quick Jewelers.
About 60 people attended the wedding in a Chicago club where the couple met six years ago, including her son, Tony. He is 1 old and is from a previous relationship.
Bowersox is working on her first album in California.
