HURON, Ohio — A Huron man was killed Friday when his vehicle was struck by a Norfolk Southern train and dragged a quarter of a mile at a crossing on a private access road east of here, authorities said.
Raul Hernandez, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 10:25 a.m. collision on Joppa Road, according to Erie County sheriff's deputies.
The conductor told deputies that Mr. Hernandez ignored a horn blast from the train. The crossing had no gate or lights.
