Unbeaten Comets blank Flyers

GENOA — After taking a 13-0 halftime lead, unbeaten Genoa rolled up three touchdowns in the third quarter to win going away.

Kyle Nutter carried 32 times for 162 yards and three touchdowns for the Comets (8-0, 4-0 Suburban Lakes League), who have won 37 straight regular-season games. Chris Cuevas ran 11 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

Derek Allgier caught a 20-yard TD pas from Josh Bryer.

Genoa had 330 total yards (240 rushing and 90 passing). Garrett Scott sparked the defense with two interceptions in the first quarter.

Tim Lohmann carried seven times for 26 yards for Lake (5-3, 2-2). Lake had 52 yards rushing and 21 yards passing.

TONTOGANY — Ian Fleetwood rambled for 93 yards in 12 carries and scored three touchdowns for Otsego (2-6, 2-2) over Gibsonburg (0-8, 0-4).

Sam Forshey rushed 15 times for 51 yards and a touchdown. Carlos Trevino went 96 yards for the final score of the game. A.C. Limes had a pass interception of 11 yards for Otsego's third score of the second quarter.

Gibsonburg was held to minus-2 yards rushing and had 48 yards passing. Otsego had 323 yard rushing and 79 passing.

PEMBERVILLE — Eastwood scored 10 touchdowns and wracked up 651 yards of offense.

Zach Conkle (172 yards), Marquise Pitts (141 yards) and Nathan Dix (119 yards) all scored two rushing touchdowns for the Eagles (5-3, 4-1).

Conkle scored two more times on touchdown receptions of 32 and 44 yards from Matt Klink.

Eastwood totaled 539 yards on 44 rushing attempts.

Elmwood (4-4, 2-2) had 110 yards.
