SE MICHIGAN: Burwell's big game gives Eagles first win

Erie Mason 33, Flat Rock 28

ERIE, Mich. — Ducy Burwell accounted for 447 yards of total offense as Erie Mason won its first game of the season Friday.

Burwell rushed for 165 yards and two scores (19 and 10 yard runs). He threw two touchdown passes to Corey Lay (23 and 85 yards) and finished with 181 yards through the air.

He also added 106 yards on three returns for the Eagles (1-8).

Lay had four catches for 130 yards with two TDs to go with 74 yards rushing including a three-yard touchdown.

Flat Rock is 0-9.

Blissfield 29, Jonesville 6

JONESVILLE, Mich. — Dalton Goetz rushed for 97 yards on 20 attempts and two first-quarter touchdowns to lead Blissfield (6-3).

Lee Keinath scored on a four-yard touchdown. Eric Schmidt added an eight-yard TD run.

Morenci 52, Whiteford 28

MORENCI, Mich. — Max Gautz charged for 211 yards on 18 carries and three touchdowns to lead Morenci over Whiteford. Gautz also caught a 58-yard touchdown pass from Brett Bovee.

Bovee and teammates Austin VanBrandt and Jay Howard contributed a TD apiece.

Whiteford's leading rusher, Cody Donnelly, scored a pair of touchdowns, rushing 176 yards on 25 carries.

Teammates Gabe LaRoy and Forrest Grosteffon contributed a touchdown apiece.
