Second suspect arrested in East Toledo homicide

Toledo police Tuesday night arrested a second suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man whose body was found last week in an East Toledo field.

Jacob Rodriquez, 16, was charged with murder and aggravated robbery and booked into the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center.

Police did not say where the youth lives or where he was arrested. Details of the arrest were unavailable Tuesday night.

Devon Daly, 18, of Northwood, was arrested Saturday in East Toledo and charged with murder. He remained in the Lucas County jail Tuesday night in lieu of $1 million bond.

The body of Rory Hunter, 23, was found about 4:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in a field in the 1100 block of East Broadway. He was shot once in the head and had three gunshot wounds to his extremities, the Lucas County coroner’s office reported. His most recent known address was the 800 block of Byrneport Drive in South Toledo.

Hunter is the second Toledo homicide of 2012.
