An Oregon man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving and an oncoming car collided in South Toledo overnight, authorities said.

Michael Elekonich, Jr., 45, was taken to Toledo Hospital with “severe injuries that did not appear to be life threatening,” Toledo police said. His condition at the hospital wasn’t immediately available.

Mr. Elekonich was driving on Dorr Street near Richards Road about 11:25 p.m. when for unknown reasons he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car, police said. Officers did not give the direction he was traveling.

The westbound lanes of Dorr between Richards and the Inverness Country Club were closed for about 45 minutes following the crash, police said.

No information about the driver of the car was released.

The incident remained under investigation.
