OAK HARBOR, Ohio — A 31-year-old Oak Harbor woman was flown to a Toledo hospital after a crash just south of the village early Saturday in which she was thrown from her vehicle, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Joni D. Parker suffered serious injuries in the crash that occurred about 1:09 a.m., troopers said. She was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, but her condition there was not immediately available.

Troopers said Ms. Parker was driving south on Woodrick Road just south of Cullmun Road in Salem Township. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit a ditch, a culvert, and a utility pole. Ms. Parker was thrown from the vehicle. The utility pole was cut in half; the power lines and transformer were damaged but were held up by the vehicle.

Ms. Parker was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
