Woman accused of driving the wrong way on U.S. 30 in Hancock County

WILLIAMSTOWN, Ohio - A 46-year-old woman accused of driving the wrong way on U.S. 30 near U.S. 68 in southern Hancock County on Thursday night was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and marked lanes of travel.

The Hancock County sheriff's office received several 911 calls regarding a wrong-way driver about 9:20 p.m.

Reports indicated a sport utility vehicle was initially eastbound in the westbound lanes and then westbound in the eastbound lanes. When deputies arrived in the area, they were told the vehicle had turned off U.S. 30 and was southbound on County Road 12.

A vehicle matching the description of the wrong-way reports was stopped on County Road 1 and its driver, Peggy Gibson, of the Ada, Ohio, area was cited shortly after 10 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.
