Around town: Award and birthday celebrations

The 23rd annual Diamante Awards took place Sept. 14 at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the campus of Owens Community College. It featured Latino-style food, music and fanfare. Also "around town" was a surprise 70th birthday parties for Shannon DeVilbiss Gallup and Joseph H. Zerbey, IV, president and general manager of The Blade.
