Harriet Whitney High School Demolition
Toledo Public Schools' demolition of the former Harriet Whitney Vocational Technical High School is nearing completion. Named for Toledo's first woman teacher, who taught classes in a log cabin in 1834 when she was 16 years old, Harriet Whitney was a girls vocational school open from 1939 to 1991 on Washington Street between 16th and 17th streets in Toledo, Ohio.
