Old Monclova School turns 100

The Monclova Community Center was once the Monclova School. Vacant since the early 1970s, the structure faced demolition in 1997. But a dedicated group of community members saved the building from the wrecking ball. A Centennial Celebration Festival was held at the old school Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 to commemorate the building turning 100. The gathering featured refreshments, crafters, carriage rides, a parade with antique automobiles and tractors, and a silent auction. CLICK ANY IMAGE TO VIEW FULL PHOTO, START SLIDE SHOW.
