Ida Burks of Perrysburg was born on Sept. 28, 1912 and will celebrate her 100th birthday this year. Burks, a graduate of Libbey High School in 1951, went on to become a nurse with Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Though Ida Burks never had children, she devoted herself to the care of others as a nurse with Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She also traveled extensively around the world and has been an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
