The Toledo Museum of Art has received a general operating grant of $112,500 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services this month.

Toledo's museum was one of 117 receiving grants from the institute, which totaled $15 million nationwide. Grant applications were received from 823 museums this year.

“The [institute] grant will help the museum to continue providing the high-quality exhibitions and educational programs the Toledo area has become accustomed to receiving,” said Roger Berkowitz, director of the museum.

The institute, which is in Washington, is a federal grant-making agency that fosters leadership, innovation, and lifelong learning by supporting museums and libraries. Toledo will be eligible for another grant in 2002.
