A Sylvania man was indicted yesterday by the Lucas County grand jury for allegedly causing the death of his friend in a traffic accident on Nov. 26.

Robert Diller III, 23, of the 5500 block of West Alexis was indicted for the aggravated vehicular homicide of Jeremy Bockert, 23, of the 5600 block of West Alexis Road. Mr. Bockert was a passenger in Mr. Diller's Ford Explorer.

Prosecutors said Mr. Diller was intoxicated when he ran his sport-utility vehicle head-on into a tree at Ashley and Roan roads in Sylvania Township.

Police said he was driving north on Roan when he failed to negotiate a turn at the intersection with Ashley.
