A 5.7 percent stake in Toledo's N-Viro International Corp. was purchased by Worldtech Waste Management Inc., a privately held soil remediation company based in Saltville, Va.

Worldtech, which revealed its buy in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday, said it bought the stock as a long term investment and plans to add to it. The filing did not say when shares were purchased or at what prices.

Shares of N-Viro, which turns wastewater sludge and other wastes into agricultural and soil enrichment products, closed at 4 p.m. yesterday at $2.69 on Nasdaq, down by 6 cents. Worldtech's stake is equal to nearly 151,000 shares.
