Community control ordered for Toledo man who fled

BOWLING GREEN - A Toledo man who escaped from a holding cell at Perrysburg Municipal Court last summer was placed on community control for four years by a Wood County judge.

Christopher Harding, 31, of 1516 Mott Ave., was found guilty of escape, failure to comply, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Common Pleas Judge Charles Kurfess this week ordered Harding to complete the SEARCH program at the NorthWest Community Correction Center. He suspended his driver's license for a year and ordered him to complete 180 hours community service and to pay $949 in restitution to Municipal Court.

Harding led Perrysburg Township police on a 20-minute chase July 11 and then escaped from Perrysburg Municipal Court while he was there for arraignment.
