Eaton considers HQ sites for fluid-power units

The future of the former Aeroquip-Vickers, Inc., headquarters operations in Monclova Township is in doubt as its Cleveland parent reorganizes its $2.6 billion fluid-power business and tries to figure out where to locate management teams.

Eaton Corp. announced to employees in January it was dividing into four business units its fluid-power operations, including those from its 1999 acquisition of the former Aeroquip-Vickers, which was a Toledo area Fortune 1,000 firm.

Eaton is studying where to base those units, but the leased office at 3000 Strayer Road in Monclova Township could be chosen, a spokesman said. Also considered are facilities in Irvine, Calif.; Eden Prairie, Minn.; and Clinton Township, Mich.
