WASHINGTON - Toledo's Dana Corp.'s Spicer Driveshaft unit yesterday received the 2000 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for manufacturing from President Bush and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta.

Dana Chairman and Chief Executive Joe Magliochetti and Joe Sober, the unit's vice president and general manager, accepted the award during a ceremony in Arlington, Va. Spicer Driveshaft, which was announced as a winner in November, was one of two recipients in the manufacturing category this year.

Spicer Driveshaft is the second Dana unit to earn the Baldrige award. Dana Commercial Credit Corp., the company's leasing subsidiary, earned one in the competition's service category in 1996.
