City, county dedicate new street downtown

Mayor Carty Finkbeiner and Sandy Isenberg, president of the Lucas County commissioners, unveil a sign designating a one-block stretch of what had been Orange Street as Constitution Avenue.

It was renamed, in part, to give a judicial tone to the address of the planned building for the 6th District Court of Appeals at Spielbusch Avenue.

Constitution Avenue runs from Spielbusch to Erie Street. Also taking part in the unveiling yesterday was Mark Pietrykowski, presiding judge of the appeals court. Construction of the court building is to begin in the summer.
