YPSILANTI, Mich. - A man whose truck struck and killed a Bryan woman in a hit-and-run accident will be sentenced June 4.

Jimmy James, 39, of Ann Arbor, Mich., was found guilty after pleading no contest to one count each of negligent homicide and felonious driving and two counts of failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident.

He could be sentenced to up to five years in prison in connection with the Oct. 29 death of Brenda Hugg, 18, an Eastern Michigan University student.

A friend, Laura Russell, also was injured. The students were hit at an intersection by James' truck. Police say James fled the scene after the accident. His truck was recovered a few months later, leading to his April 11 arrest.
