A Toledoan who shot a man in the restroom of a Woodville Road bar after an argument pleaded guilty yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to voluntary manslaughter.

Isaac Munoz, 24, of 639 Clark St., told Judge Ruth Ann Franks that he shot and killed Jesus Madera, 32, after they argued over money Mr. Madera owed one of Munoz's relatives.

Mr. Madera, also known as Hector Dominguez, of 3443 College Dr., died Jan. 26 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center less than an hour after the 1:40 a.m. shooting.

Munoz faces three to 10 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter and an additional three years for using a gun during the crime when he is sentenced June 7.

Robert Clark, an assistant county prosecutor, said Munoz told police that Mr. Madera made some threatening gestures before the shooting.

Anne Kirkhope, another assistant county prosecutor working on the case, said Munoz told officers that there was a short struggle just before the fatal gunshot.
