BOWLING GREEN - Bond has been set at $30,000 for a Waterville man charged with breaking into a Verizon Communications lot on West Gypsy Lane Road and stealing telecommunications equipment.

Robert Sinkovic, 26, is being held in the Wood County jail on charges of breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools, criminal damaging, vandalism, and two counts of receiving stolen property.

Police were called to the Verizon lot about 1:40 a.m. Saturday by a Verizon employee who was watching the area because of recent break-ins. Police found Mr. Sinkovic with tools, equipment, and the driver's license, employee identification card, and bank card of an Ameritech employee.

Lt. Brad Conner said a search was conducted at Mr. Sinkovic's home and police recovered stolen property from previous Verizon break-ins as well as from thefts reported in Perrysburg Township and Maumee. Mr. Sinkovic's case has been set for a preliminary hearing in Bowling Green Municipal Court Friday.
