A Toledo man will be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court this morning on felonious assault charges after he led police on a chase Saturday morning through Ottawa County, Oregon, and East Toledo.

The chase began about 11 a.m. on State Rt. 2 near the Davis Besse nuclear power station after Vincent Bronowski, 52,cq of 620 Maumee Ave., allegedly forced his daughter, Laura Restivo, 30, of Perrysburg, out of his car and sped off with his wife, Terri, 50, of the Maumee Avenue address. Lucas County sheriff's deputies pursued Mr. Bronowski through Jeruslaem Township and Oregon. As he drove, Mr. Bronowski threatened his wife with a knife, deputies said.

After reaching speeds of 90 mph, Mr. Bronowski's car struck a parked vehicle at Wheeling Street and Navarre Avenue and had a front tire shot out by a deputy at Navarre and Dover Place in East Toledo.

Mr. Bronowski, who police said suffered from a mental illness, was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was transferred to the Lucas County Jail, where he remained last night, authorities said.
