TIFFIN - A Fostoria man has been sentenced in Seneca County Common Pleas Court to 20 years in prison on 27 child sexual abuse offenses.

Michael J. Porter, 30, was sentenced on one count of attempted rape, seven counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, 12 counts of gross sexual imposition, and seven counts of illegally possessing nudity-oriented materials involving a 6-year-old Fostoria child. As part of his sentencing, Porter was ruled a sexual predator.

Seneca County Prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr., said the crimes occurred while Porter was baby-sitting the child at a friend's home during the spring and summer of last year. Authorities were alerted when Porter ordered a child pornography videotape by mail.
