Michael S. Dockery was sentenced yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to six years in prison for trying to slash Toledo police officers with a 3-inch knife.

Dockery, 19, who has no known address, was convicted of two counts of felonious assault. Judge Robert Christiansen sentenced Dockery to concurrent six-year sentences on the charges.

Toledo police were pursuing Dockery on Aug. 30 in connection with a burglary investigation when he swung the knife at officers near Main and Second streets. He then fled to the 500 block of Front Street, where he swung the knife again at another officer, slicing the officer's shirt and vest cover.
