Norwalk woman convicted in sexual assault of girl, 12

FREMONT — A Norwalk woman was convicted yesterday in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Wendy Coulson, 20, pleaded guilty to one count of gross sexual imposition in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court. As part of a plea agreement, an indictment charging her with complicity to rape and complicity to attempted rape was dismissed.

Coulson could receive up to five years in prison and a fine of $10,000 on the charge, a third-degree felony, when she is sentenced by Judge Margaret Weaver. No sentencing date has been set.

According to authorities, Coulson and her husband, Derrick Coulson, 21, were present when the girl was assaulted in a Fremont home July 9.
