Allen judge lets search of suspect's home stand

LIMA, Ohio - An Allen County judge yesterday denied a motion to suppress a search warrant conducted at the home of a Lima man accused of multiple counts of rape and child pornography.

Common Pleas Judge Richard Warren said an Aug. 30 search of the home of Glen Fryer was properly and legally conducted.

Judge Warren rejected defense attorneys' claims that the search warrant was issued without sufficient probable cause and that the issuing judge, Matt Staley, was not neutral because he presided over Mr. Fryer's divorce hearing.

Mr. Fryer was indicted Sept. 5 on three counts of rape and two counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. On Oct. 12, an Allen County grand jury indicted him on 34 other felony counts.
