Calphalon Corp., of Perrysburg, is recalling 13,000 stainless steel kettles after reports of injuries by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The commission and Calphalon, which is owned by Newell Rubbermaid, had received 13 reports of incidents, including three minor burn injuries, when hot water splashed out of the kettles' spouts due to a buildup of pressure inside.

The recalled kettles are stainless steel, have a glass cover, and the model number 4302 located on the bottom. The kettles, which can hold two quarts of water and have the name Calphalon printed on the glass cover, were sold for about $40 from October, 2001 until January.
