Ford salutes conductor for zoo concerts

Mayor Jack Ford honored Sam Szor, conductor of the Toledo Concert Band, last night at the Music Under the Stars concert for his leadership in staging the Sunday evening concerts at the Toledo Zoo for 50 years.

The city of Toledo is a major sponsor of this season's concerts, which are held in the zoo amphitheater and free to the public.

Last night, Mr. Szor conducted the band in performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Music Under the Stars is managed by the Toledo Symphony.
