A 19-year-old Springfield Township man remained in the Lucas County jail yesterday on two robbery charges stemming from separate incidents involving Marco's Pizza delivery drivers.

Brandon L. Hoffman, of 1800 North McCord Rd., was charged yesterday with robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Toledo Municipal Court.

He allegedly hit a 24-year-old delivery woman in the head with a brick and robbed her of pizza and money on July 12.

Mr. Hoffman was arraigned in Sylvania Municipal Court earlier this week for allegedly using Mace to rob a 21-year-old Marco's pizza delivery man on Monday. Mr. Hoffman also is being held on unrelated warrants charging him with disorderly conduct and for theft.

Around 11:20 p.m., the 21-year-old male victim arrived with two large pizzas and went to the suspect's apartment complex, Lucas County sheriff's Detective Rob Sarahman said.

The delivery man was going back to his vehicle after getting no response at an apartment. The was stopped by a 17-year-old juvenile who acted like he was getting the money out of his pocket. The juvenile said he had a weapon.

Mr. Hoffman is accused of spraying Mace at the delivery man. The men took the pizzas worth $18.50. “The plan was to take the pizza, money, and his car,” the detective said.

On July 12, the 24-year-old delivery woman tried to make a delivery in the 2400 block of Holland-Sylvania Road about 5:30 p.m.

Three men approached her after they left a laundry room. She was hit in the head and the men stole the pizza and a money bag for a $60 loss. The woman was treated at Medical College of Ohio Hospitals.
