FREMONT - A Fremont man has pleaded not guilty in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court to an aggravated robbery charge for a holdup at a Hy Myler convenience store on West State Street.

Jonathon Ritchie, 21, was ordered to remain in the county jail pending an Oct. 9 trial date in Judge Margaret Weaver's courtroom.

An officer on patrol July 21 saw a man with a red ski mask inside the store at about 12:30 a.m. When the officer checked on the store, the robber ran out and tried to escape on his bicycle. He was arrested minutes later.

Police said the suspect threatened the clerk with a knife. Officers said they recovered a knife and $329 allegedly taken from the store.
