TIFFIN - A Toledo man was sentenced yesterday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court to four years in prison and classified as a sexually oriented offender for videotaping two teenage girls taking showers.

Scott A. Brown, 28, of Ottawa Drive pleaded guilty and was sentenced for five criminal offenses, including two counts of burglary, two counts of voyeurism, and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Brown drove to Tiffin July 9 and trespassed into King and Brown dormitories on the Heidelberg College campus during summer break when teenagers from a number of states were visiting for a show choir competition. Brown entered two shower rooms with video equipment and videotaped the teenage girls, one a minor, while they showered, Seneca County Prosecutor Ken Egbert said.

Brown later was noticed peering into another room with his camera by one of the teens who alerted authorities. Tiffin police apprehended Brown, confiscating the video camera and the videotape.

Brown's classification as a sexually oriented offender will require him to report his whereabouts for 10 years to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office after he is released from prison.
