North Toledoan charged with rape, kidnapping

A North Toledo man was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court on charges that included kidnapping and rape stemming from an incident Friday when he was accused of forcing a woman into his vehicle, driving her to his house, and sexually assaulting her there before she escaped, authorities said.

Theodore Anthony Kolinski, 41, 228 Everette St., was arrested at his house about 4:35 a.m. Friday. He was being held last night in the Lucas County Jail on the rape and kidnapping charges and misdemeanor charges that included resisting arrest, aggravated menacing, criminal damaging, petty theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and intoxication and offensive conduct, police said.

The woman told police she was walking down an unidentified street about 1:10 a.m. Friday when Mr. Kolinski followed her in his vehicle before stopping her and forcing her into his car, police said.
