ADRIAN - Delphi Automotive Systems in Adrian is getting a $50,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to assist current workers at the manufacturing facility.

State Rep. Doug Spade (D., Adrian) announced the grant recently, noting that the state is appropriating only $13.5 million this fiscal year to job-training grants, a significant reduction from previous years.

The Delphi award is part of $905,000 being awarded statewide to train 1,725 workers. Funding will be issued only during the first two quarters of the state's fiscal year.

Employers must match the state grant with 25 percent of the funding.
