BOWLING GREEN — A local man will arraigned in Wood County Common Pleas Court tomorrow on charges that he took money for products he offered on the Internet but never turned over to the buyers.

Shad A. Drury, 29, of Bowling Green was indicted last week on 16 counts of telecommunication fraud and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Telecommunication fraud is a fifth-degree felony; the corrupt activity charge is a second-degree felony.

Wood County prosecutors said Mr. Drury allegedly took $12,000 from victims in the cases for which he is charged. He was arrested following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

Mr. Drury had pleaded guilty in June, 2000, to one count of theft by deception for writing bad checks totaling $3,086. He was later ordered to repay $10,000 to his parents, serve five years of community control, and spend 60 days on electric home monitoring.

He will appear in this case before Judge Robert Pollex.
