Bond set for 2 suspects in 89-year-old's death

Bond was set yesterday at $400,000 each for two men suspected in the murder of a an 89-year-old Nebraska Avenue woman.

Toledo Municipal Judge Francis Gorman set the bond on Andre Flanigan, 20, of the Old West End, and Curtis Alan Stone, 18, who lives with his grandparents in central Toledo. They are accused in the murder of Amelia Topolski.

The body of Ms. Topolski was found in her home at 1250 Nebraska on Wednesday after Toledo Police officers stopped there to check on her safety.

The case has attracted the attention of Mayor Jack Ford in calling for greater measures in protecting the elderly, especially those living in high-crime neighborhoods.
