Store owner accused of harassment

BOWLING GREEN - A former employee at a Stony Ridge carryout has asked a judge for a civil protection order against the store's owner, accusing him of stalking her.

In a filing in Wood County Common Pleas Court, Patti Sander, 42, of Stony Ridge alleges that John Schulte made dozens of harassing phone calls after she quit her job in March. She also accuses Schulte of confronting her in public and making threats.

In one incident, Schulte followed her to a Home Depot store and “got in my face and started yelling at me,” Mrs. Sander alleges in her complaint.

Judge Alan Mayberry refused Ms. Sander's request for an emergency protection order. A hearing on her request for a civil protection order was set for Sept. 5.

Schulte, 47, of Luckey, Ohio, is a former Oregon investment counselor and Republican politician. He served eight months in prison in 1994-95 for mail fraud and income tax evasion.

He could not be reached for comment yesterday.
