Tiffin man charged in gas station holdup

TIFFIN — A Tiffin man is to today appear in Seneca County Common Pleas Court on nine felony indictments stemming from a holdup of a gas station and convenience store last year and the theft of checks from a home.

Chad Sendelback, 30, is being held in the Seneca County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond after a grand jury indicted him last week. Mr. Sendelback allegedly held up Hy-Miler gas station at knifepoint on Dec. 17 and tied up the clerk with phone cords before fleeing with more than $5,000.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, possession of criminal tools, safecracking, disrupting public services, and tampering with evidence. He also was charged with two counts of forgery and with the theft of checks related to the alleged theft of checks taken from a Tiffin home and cashed at area businesses.
