Toledo to laud woman's work in Lebanon

4/16/2004

A celebratory dinner will be held Sunday evening in honor of Madam Rabab Sadr-Kcharafeddine, the administrator and founder of many charitable institutions in Lebanon.

Madam Rabab opened one of the first orphanages in the Tyre region of southern Lebanon, which was followed by the establishment of schools for the children.

She then opened a nursing home for the elderly and started 10 medical clinics in the area, open to people of all backgrounds and faiths.

More than 7,000 meals are served daily at these sites to anyone who hungers.

The dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel, 3536 Secor Rd., in the Westgate section of West Toledo. A $25 donation is requested.
