Ex-Findlay mayor's trial scheduled for June 9

TIFFIN - Former Findlay Mayor John Stozich is scheduled to be tried June 9 in Tiffin Municipal Court in connection with a Jan. 16 crash that killed a Seneca County woman.

Mr. Stozich, 76, is charged with one count of vehicular homicide. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Mr. Stozich failed to heed a stop sign at Seneca County Road 7 and U.S. 224 and struck a car driven by Cynthia A. Brown, 35, of New Riegel, Ohio.

Ms. Brown was killed in the collision, and Mr. Stozich was injured. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 90 days in jail and a $750 fine.

Mr. Stozich left office at the end of 2003. He also is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
