TIFFIN - A Findlay man has been sentenced to two years in prison for selling fake crack cocaine near a Tiffin elementary school and for selling crack while out on bond.

Chad M. Brooks, 22, was sentenced Monday by Judge Steve Shuff of Seneca County Common Pleas Court to 13 months in prison for trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school, a fourth-degree felony, and 11 months in prison for trafficking in cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. Judge Shuff ordered the prison terms to be served consecutively.

County Prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr., said Brooks sold nearly 12 grams of phony crack to an undercover informant in February, 2002, in an apartment building on Coe Street in Tiffin, less than 460 feet from St. Joseph Elementary School. While released on bond on Feb. 22, 2004, Brooks sold nearly one gram of crack to another undercover informant in a house on Second Avenue in Tiffin, Mr. Egbert said.
