Bellevue-area man gets 3 years in assault case

BELLEVUE, Ohio - A 19-year-old rural Bellevue man who threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, pointed a shotgun at her head, and chased her with a garden fork was sentenced yesterday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court to three years in prison.

Michael D. Studer, 19, of County Road 29, was sentenced to three years for felonious assault and one year for tampering with evidence. Judge Steve Shuff ordered that the sentences to be served concurrently.

Studer initiated the altercation with his ex-girlfriend outside his parents' residence on County Road 29, county Prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr., said.
