3 plead guilty to offenses related to illegal drugs

BRYAN - Three people pleaded guilty to felonies related to methamphetamine - an illegal drug that officials have said is a growing problem near the Indiana line - in Williams County Common Pleas Court yesterday.

Kris A. Kerr, 31, of 16444 County Road 20 near Alvordton, Ohio, pleaded guilty to illegal manufacture of meth, a second-degree felony.

Jeffrey L. Stayer, 41, of Butler, Ind., pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of meth, a fifth-degree felony.

Sentencing for both men is scheduled for Sept. 16.

Sonya C. Hopkins, 39, of 213 Charles St., Bryan, pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated possession of meth, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of crack cocaine. All are fifth-degree felonies. Sentencing is to be Sept. 9.
