City reverses stance, renews N-Viro contract

In a reversal, Toledo City Council has extended the city's sludge-treatment with N-Viro International Corp. for five years starting Jan. 1.

The work is a third of N-Viro's annual revenue of about $5.5 million. The company said in May it had been notified that its contract would not be renewed Dec. 31 and the work would be put out for bid.

The sewage treatment technology firm posted a loss of $1.5 million last year.
